La promozione dell'immagine di una Nazione, del territorio, delle varie regioni, citta' e paesi, puo' essere veicolata anche con la calligrafia.
The image of Nations, local areas, regions, cities or countries, can also be promoted with handwriting.
Calligraphic Competition
THE WORLD IN THE ALPHABET
The promotion of the WORLD NATIONS can also be accomplished through Calligraphy. Sending written letters and cards, exchanging notes and greetings is to commit to our memory the land, the places, the regions, the distinguishing feature and characteristic of the World. UNITRE and CAUS have organized, under Mr. Raffaele Palma’s supervision, a Competition on Calligraphy that is open to those enthusiastic to take part by submitting b. and w. /coloured tables. Each alphabetical letter or number will have to carry "a reference to a World Nation", such as history, art, culture, industries, natural or geographical frontiers, or a reference to a specific Nation.
The whole A to Z alphabet (or the 10 numbers series) will indicate capital letters explained, decorated, or small letters.
The candidates can take inspiration for the paging of their work from the alphabets shown on Internet: Torino Great Beautiful Character, Piemonte in capital letters and in small letters too, Italy and decorated capitals and/or Europe in a Distinguished Alphabet.
The heading of the 2008/9 Calligraphic Competition is:
the World in the Alphabet
- Participants will produce a max of 5 original works, paper size max 21x30
- Whether possible, table reproduction on CD is appreciated
- Full name, address, tel. number and techniques used to be written on the back of the work
- On a separate paper, a short biographic profile of the Author – delivery expenses will be paid by the participants and the works received are not intended to be given back
- Competition expiring date: January 31, 2009
- The winners will be informed in due time by letter, phone call or email
